Hi everyone my name is Jodi. My boyfriend and I are opening a 501c3 non profit parrot rescue here in Alabama. We haven't started construction yet or open to the public till we can get more money coming in. I'm also enrolled in the veterinarian technician school at Penn Foster and I'm taking classes with the American federation of aviculture so I can specialize in exotic birds. I'm very excited about this and I'm hoping we can start construction soon so we can be open to the public by next summer. After we're open we're going to see about using the be birds as service animals for the treatment of PTSD in first responders, veterans, police and battered women. Coming from a battered woman situation myself I still deal with it and the birds are how I find my peace because they're funny, goofy, don't mimic they can respond with their own answers an cus you out. Which I didn't teach then they already knew it when we got our birds. I'm learning allot about then and will share wat I learn.
